Privacy Policy

This policy explains what LumenWrite collects, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your personal data and we don't show ads.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself), your plan and account settings.
• Text you submit: the text you humanize and the results, so you can see them in your history. Text you only scan with the AI detector, and sentences you request alternatives for, are processed but not kept in your history.
• Usage records: when you made requests, their size, level and status, and your daily usage, to apply plan limits and keep the service reliable.
• Billing records: the plan, amount and dates of each purchase. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
• Technical data: your IP address and browser details, used briefly to block abuse (for example, limiting repeated sign-in attempts) and in short-lived server logs.
• Device check: when you use the app, your browser sends a one-way hash of device characteristics (such as screen, graphics and font details) and a random ID it keeps, together with your IP address. We use it only to stop one person from making several accounts to collect referral rewards.

How we use it

• to run the service: humanize and score your text, show your history, and apply your plan;
• to keep accounts secure and prevent fraud and abuse;
• to send service emails, such as password reset links (no marketing emails without your consent);
• to answer support requests;
• to improve our models and quality. Submitted text may be used for this, with account details removed. You can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected]; texts from opted-out accounts aren't used from then on.

Who else handles your data

We use a small number of service providers, only for the purposes above:

• Cloudflare: network delivery, security and the bot check on sign-up forms;
• RunPod: GPU servers where our models process your text;
• an email provider: to deliver account emails;
• a payment provider: to process payments for paid plans.

Some of these providers process data in other countries, including the United States. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

Cookies and local storage

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser also stores preferences like the theme, your draft text and humanizer settings on your device. Cloudflare may set cookies needed for security. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, history and texts while your account is open. When you delete your account from the Account page, your account, history and stored texts are deleted from our systems straight away. We may keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Device-check hashes are kept, no longer linked to your account, so a deleted account's device can't be used to collect referral rewards again.

Your rights

You can see your history in the app, change your email or password, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email [email protected] from your account's email address. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

Connections are encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and access to our servers and databases is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children

LumenWrite is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
